That Radical Pottery 8

I don’t think I have mentioned here that I am head over heals in love with wheel throwing. All I want in my life is family, friends, travel, essential oils, herbs, and pottery! Wanna see what I have fresh from the kiln?!

Recently I instagrammed this photo of a mug I made. I glazed it with three different blues Obsidian. I was going for a night  sky look and, though it was not exactly as I envisioned it, I adore it none the less. I will try this look again soon in another piece but with only one coat of obsidian instead of 3 because it seems it devoured much of the blues.

I want to make a trillion teapots! I want to be known as The Mad Teapotter or some other such adorable moniker. I love tea and teapots and tea bowls and tea cups and matcha whisks and all I want to do is drink all the tea and make all of the things to put it in! I love everything about tea especially the fact that to make a proper cup it requires one to slow down and perform a little ritual. Drinks with ritual are earth magic and I feel so grounded and connected to humanity. I am scheduling time with my dear Carol to up my lid game.Wheel thrown teapot

This little love pot got treated to 4 different glazes! The base is two Celdons: Cherry Blossom on the top half and Lavender on the bottom half and they overlap in the middle. I dropped Arctic Blue and Blue Rutile thickly all around. This first photo is way too dark…I’ll replace it when we have some sunshine because so you can see the true colors like in the second photo.

This baby was made specifically for a dear friend of mine and she doesn’t even know it yet! I don’t think she reads this but I just can’t wait to share it anyway! This is Arctic Blue over Cobalt Celadon.Wheel thrown teapot

This bowl got the same colors. I am really digging this combo!image

I also love coffee and purple.

Your Potty Pal,

Just read your blog! I love you, love tea, collect tea pots and all tea paraphernalia, tea cups, tea pots, (I think I have maybe 15), tea strainers, tea spoon strainers, tea bag rests, etc. I love the obsidian blue teapot and little dish. I wish I was that creative? I always wanted to try throwing pots, but never did. love your blog and your pictures. Little Persephone is adorable by the way. I do hope I will be able to meet you and your family one day. You’re an incredible woman. I’m off to make myself another cup of tea. My first one is all gone!

You are an amaze ng woman. So much depth, so many roads, so many children! Tea and water is all we should ever drink, and live until 100years or more of a beautiful, peaceful life.
I grew up in cleveland (eastside) where my parents trusted every adult (just about) to correct our actions, if me and sibs were acting differently from the ways we were raised.
At 70 i would really like to live in a bus that i decided upon every piece of wood, fabric, piping, etc. to make sure it is lead- free, breathable, and sustainable. I would like to read your notes someday.(seriously).
    peace to you and Family!
